I love reading, the beach, catching up with girlfriends and spending time with my family.

What do I see in the future for your family?
A lot of love and fun times ahead.
Growing and learning from each other - my daughter is constantly teaching me new things all the time.
Travel- we would love to one day soon pack up our things and drive around Australia and get to know this beautiful country better that we are blessed to live in. We would then like to discover other parts of this world.

Who are you biggest style influences?
I like bohemian style. At the moment on Instagram I am following Spell Byron Bay, Gypsy Stone, White Bohemian, Free People and Wild and Free Jewelry

How did you choose the name for your little girl?
I have always loved the name Frankie but Luke wanted something more so my mum and I googled girl names where Frankie could be a nickname and I came across Franceska and I loved it. Franceska means 'free one' and that was that!

What are your favourite things to do as family?
I feel as if we haven't done too much yet! But I just love being with my family spending time just laying around in bed in the morning and having the occasional family afternoon nap! In the future I can see us spending more time outdoors, especially at the beach. I can see that as one our favourite things to do as a family.

If you could teach your daughter one thing what would it be?
Love herself for who she is

What is the best thing about being a mum?
It's hard to pick just one thing! But if I had to I would say the best thing about being a mum is that it has taught me what unconditional love truly is. And I have to just seeing Franceska's little face every morning brings such joy to my world.

What is the hardest thing about being a mum?
The lack of time I have for myself, although I wouldn't change it for the world.

Us mums can sometimes get so caught up in the lives of the people around us and keeping them happy, what do you do for yourself?
Since I have been a mum I haven't done much for myself at all! I guess that will change as Frankie gets older and more independent. Although, I have begun to exercise again as Frankie has started to settle into a routine and I can workout when she has her morning nap.

What is your beauty routine?
I havn't had much of a beauty routine since bub. I cleanse my face in the morning and evening and apply a light moisturiser afterwards. I moisturise my body after my shower each morning and I try to exfoliate my body on a weekly basis. I have also had my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted to save time with a new baby

Has your style changed since becoming a mum?
Not really. I am just always thinking what is easiest to breast feed in!

Do you have any advice for mums to be?
Listen to everyone's advice, then do what you feel is right for you. Trust your intuition, no one knows your baby like you do. Be kind to yourself. Ask for help if you need it. Enjoy your sleep while you can!
Enjoy your baby and acknowledge and reward your self for even your smallest accomplishments.
We are all learning, we all make mistakes, don't sweat the small stuff. It is hard work being a new mum and it is easy to let your day be consumed with just trying to get through the day when it is filled with feeding, nappy changing, housework and cooking so enjoy your baby and forget the housework because it can wait, it will be there tomorrow

Your baby won't be a baby forever so enjoy these moments because it goes by so fast. Most of all love yourself and acknowledge that you are a beautiful child bearing goddess. You are about to experience the best job on the planet and about to receive the worlds most precious gift.

ASHLEE

Ashlee and Stuart Kennedy

Meet Ashlee, a beautiful beach babe and new mum to baby Taj,
and wife of pro surfer Stuart Kennedy.

Family Members: Stu, myself, Taj and Ruby (dog).

Current Residence: Lennox Head NSW

Occupation:I worked in marketing and then admin when I fell pregnant and Stu is a professional surfer.

5 of your favourite things: Sashimi, denim shorts, Greenfoot Mama’s organic baby nappy balm, travel and living by the ocean.

3 things you are grateful for: My loving husband, friends/family and my beautiful healthy boy!

What do you see in the future for you and your family? Hopefully traveling with Stu & Taj when we can. Living by the ocean, whether that is in Lennox Head or in Sydney near Stu’s family. As long as we are together and happy it doesn’t really matter.

Who are your biggest style influences/icons. I’m pretty relaxed about everything in life, I love Nicole Ritchie’s style. She can make a casual denim shorts & plain tee look so damn good.

What are your favourite things to do as a family? Packing up the car & going 4WDing along the beach with the dog. We take the camping gas stove & pack a little picnic & spend the day there. Its like camping but we still get to come home & sleep in our comfy bed.

Taj is such a great name. How did you choose the name for your little one? Stu actually chose the name Taj. I remember when we first got together & we were on the long drive to Sydney, we started talking about baby names & he told me he liked that name and 6 years later he was still talking about it.

If you could teach Taj one thing what would it be. Stu would answer ‘surfing’ to this question, but I hope he has polite manners & respects others.

The best thing about being a mum? Each day gets better than the last. The best mummy moments are when feeding Taj and he looks straight up & stares in my eyes. Melts my heart!!

The hardest thing about being a mum? Knowing that Stu is missing out on seeing our boy everyday when he has to go overseas for a competition. I know he will struggle big time with that and it makes me sad!

Us mums can sometimes get so caught up in the lives of the people around us and keeping them happy, what do you do for yourself? When Taj is sleeping Stu makes me get out of the house & have some alone time. Whether that Is going to get a manicure, going for a stroll along the beach or catching up with the girls.

What is your beauty routine? I am pretty relaxed with my beauty routine. I use Sukin natural face cleanser & also exfoliate once a week. I use MAC makeup but pretty minimal.

Has your style changed since becoming a mum? Only slightly due to trying to find tops / dresses that are easy to breastfeed in.

Do you have any advice for mums to be? Just relax & go with the flow. Don’t get caught up in what other people & what books tell you. And don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Every mum & bub is different.

Natures Child for all my creams and wipes, teething toys etc and David Jones has a great range of clothes for little boys.

What do you see in the future for you and your family? Next year we are planning to buy a house in Suffolk Park or Byron. So I see lots of renovating, planting and setting up of our family home.

Who are your biggest style influences/icons? I Love Erin Wason- Model and Jewelry Designer, She has a great style. Jerome Dryfuss -French Handbag Designer, he has a great attitude towards design and I love his Practicality. Designer Isabel Marant I admire her work and love her style.

What’s the best thing about your job? Being Creative and being my own Boss. The hours I work are flexible and I can enjoy my children too!

I LOVE the names Ace and Rio. How did you choose the name for your boys? Ace we found in an ‘old school’ name book and we loved it straight away! It has such a positive meaning. For Rio we wanted another short and strong name to go with his brother’s name. Rio means river in Spanish and is a cool surf maneuver! We loved the sound of them together.

What are your favourite things to do as a family? Ace has just learnt to ride his bike with no training wheels  and Rio is mad about basketball or any ball sports, so we spend a lot of time at our local skate park and basketball court. Fridays is Sushi night, we love to go and have dinner together as a Family. Ace likes to set the table, we all get our own sauces and ginger specially prepared by Ace. Rio loves to have a go at eating rice by himself. It’s messy and Fun - Our little tradition.

If you could teach your children one thing what would it be? To remember it’s not about what you can take from the world it’s about what you can give……
Always aim high, you can do anything! And be kind to yourself and others.

The best thing about being a mum?
The Cuddles. The Love. Listening to their beautiful little voices and their wonderful ideas.

The hardest thing about being a mum? The Juggling to make everyone happy! And the endless chores

Us mums can sometimes get so caught up in the lives of the people around us and keeping them happy, what do you do for yourself? I love to catch up with my girlfriends when I can and enjoy a childfree dinner a Margarita and a good laugh!

What is your beauty routine? I Use Ren Cleanser and Scrub from the U.K it’s free of any nasty chemicals, and I moisturize with Jojoba. I am addicted to Argon oil for my Hair and coconut oil for after sun body moisturizer. That’s about all I do most days, I could definitely do more!

Has your style changed since becoming a mum? When I’m busy I tend to just throw things on; sometimes my style is a bit crazy. But in saying that, I also think my style is more defined. I am older and have a better understanding of what suits my body, colors and fabrics I like and what style I like. Overall I think my wardrobe is better.

Do you have any advice for mums to be? Every child is an individual and every experience is unique- go with your intuition. You will know what to do…. mothers always do!

LOLA

Lola

Meet Lola, a boho beach babe, pilates instructor and mumma of one sweet little
miracle baby girl, Myla.

Family Members: Tobey, Myla, Bunny(puppy), Lola

Current Residence: Valla Beach

5 of your favourite things: Beach days, family time, watermelon, travel, gardening

5 mother and baby essentials:
A good baby bag
A good baby carrier… couldn’t do my shopping without it
A nice play mat … for tummy time and floor time
A nice big water bottle for mum
Cotton and bamboo wraps perfect for keeping bub cool but still wrapped

What are your favourite shops for babywear? Nature baby (online) Mini Mojo in Coffs  Harbour but they are also online

What do you see in the future for you and your family? It’s hard to plan what will happen tomorrow, but I see travel, lots of love, more kids and maybe one day a house of our own

Who are your biggest style influences/icons? I would have to say as cheesy as this sounds my mum … she has a perfect mix of bohemian but classic style.

I LOVE the name Myla. How did you choose the name for your little one? About a year ago Tobey and I were told that I would not be able to have children naturally. So it was a massive but beautiful surprise when we found out I was pregnant. Myla was the first name Tobes said to me. I hated it at first … but through my pregnancy it grew on me…. We later found out it means little miracle … which in our case she was.

What are your favourite things to do as a family? Beach days … camping… seeing friends…both Tobes and I are busy bodies we love being out doors, meeting up with people and sharing laughs.

If you could teach your child one thing what would it be? Life is short … LIVE…LOVE… BE HAPPY …BE KIND… x

The best thing about being a mum? I love the morning snuggles with Tobes and Myla

The hardest thing about being a mum? Learning how to be orgainzed and that life isn’t just about you or your partner anymore

Us mums can sometimes get so caught up in the lives of the people around us and keeping them happy, what do you do for yourself? I struggle with this because I’m a people pleaser… but I try and walk everyday…I was a pilates teacher before Myla, so I fit my own pilates sessions in while she sleeps.

What is your beauty routine? My mother taught me a long time ago that you don’t need to spend hundreds on skin care, just keep it clean and simple.
So I try and drink 2 litres of water a day … wash my face with cool water morning and night and I use a Kora facemask once a week.

Has your style changed since becoming a mum? It’s more relaxed… more easy basic styles…. And more feminine.

Do you have any advice for mums to be? I was given a million and one baby books and so much advice. It’s all amazing but I ended up stressing myself out information overload.
So my advice is use what works for you, every baby and mother is different don’t worry if you or your baby doesn’t fit into what the books say.

LYSS

Lyss and her camera

Meet Lyss, a lifestyle photographer who is reaching for the stars and kicking goals around the world. Oh and she is a mum to an adorable little boy, Townes. I met Lyss through University in Coffs Harbour, she is just one of those lovely, positive people that lifts your spirits every time you see her.

We were lucky enough to have her do a maternity shoot and a family shoot for us and she is amazing! She must have been born with a camera in her hand. Now she is travelling the world photographing weddings, families, babies, models and pregnancies.

Family Members: Partner Dane, Son Townes, Dog Tessy

Current Residence: Emerald Beach, NSW

Occupation: Photographer

If you weren’t a photographer what would you be? A student Studying Early Childhood Education and a waitress most probably!

5 of your favourite things: (Products, food, things to do etc) SLEEPING, cuddles with my little boy, BB Cream, Red wine, Ben & Jerry's Ice cream (esp. half Baked)

What do you see in the future for you and your family? Hopefully moving house but in the same town and also hopefully a bit of travel all together.

Who are your biggest style influences/icons? I love Alexa Chung... However I look like I ate two or three of her :p Also I've had a soft spot for Zooey Dechanel for years now. And Kimbra, Kimbra is AMAZING.

What are your favourite things to do as a family? (In or out of home) I'm a simple girl. Cuddles in bed. Toddlers are too busy for cuddles so I take them when I can get them, and I'm always trying!

Townes is such a great unique name. How did you choose the name for your little one? Dane named Townes after his favourite musician Townes Van Zandt. There are actually heaps of American kids named Townes as he is a bit of a cult figure but I only know of one other Townes in Australia!

Townesy is so adorable and he is always dressed in great style. What are your favourite shops to shop for him? (Can be online) His wardrobe is eclectic that's for sure!!! I'm actually pretty lucky and as people know that I adore vintage and handmade clothes I seem to be a magnet for awesome real-deal vintage hand-me-downs. Once word got out I loved to dress him in rompers/overalls they were coming from everywhere! Op shops are always great and I love to find gorgeous Etsy sellers making vintage inspired pieces in lovely fabrics.

If you could teach Townes one thing what would it be? I'm terrible with money. If I could teach him to be good with money that would be excellent. Other than that, I hope he has an interest in photography and I can teach him that.

The best thing about being a mum? Cuddles!

How do you juggle your busy life as a photographer and being a mum? I don't do it very well, when I'm working I feel bad that I'm not spending time with Townesy and when I'm spending time with Townesy I am worrying about all the work I should be getting done. My partner is a stay at home Dad so they are always off doing something fun!

What is the best thing about your job? Being a part of the special times in peoples lives and helping them celebrate these things by capturing the little moments that otherwise may have slipped by unnoticed. Working from home is also awesome as, yeah I'm working, but Townesy can run into my office and give me a hug and kiss anytime and I don't have to send him off to daycare each day. I am lucky!!!

What is your beauty routine? I should wash my face more. I splurge on nice products though. I use Chanel Lait Confort to wash my face, Korres eye cream, an Algenist serum, Clinique cream or Garnier BB cream, I actually bought a couple of high end BB creams expecting them to be even better than the Garnier one but nope! Garnier BB all the way! I'm also addicted to Guerlain meteorites, Nars red lipstick and black eyeliner everyday.

Has your style changed since becoming a mum? Haha, I've become a bit lazier.

Do you have any advice for mums to be? You don't really need to buy all that stuff! I know it's fun but try to go easy as you'll soon see you don't need most of it, and what you do need will be gifted to you in bulk by excited loved ones :)
